The Institute for Community Organisation Research (ICOR) is a non-profit organisation established in 1989 and registered under the Society Registration Act 1860, and the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950. The primary goal of ICOR is to come up with a body of knowledge indigenous to India and its culture such that it will lead to the empowerment of grassroots workers.

ICOR offers its services to various groups involved in community organisation in order to build local capabilities and enthuse people to become resources for their own betterment, and thus leading to social transformation. These groups include national, church-related and non-denominational organisations, as well as NGOs and academic institutions. The approach is participatory, embracing the total operation and involvement of the organisations with which ICOR interacts.
