    John Almeida is the Principal of Joseph Cardijn Technical School, and the Chairperson of the Association of Non-Government Industrial Training Institutes. He is also a co-ordinator of Aapli Mumbai.

    Dr. (Fr.) S.M. Michael is the Director of Institute of Indian Culture, Andheri, Mumbai. He is also Professor Emeritus of Cultural Anthropology, University of Mumbai. His areas of research include: Ecology and Culture; Social Movements; Dalit studies; Religion and Society.

  • Shubhada Maitra


    Shubhada Maitra is Professor and Dean, School of Social Work, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She has an M.A. in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work, TISS, Mumbai and a Ph.D. in Social Work from Mumbai University. Her areas of interest include mental health, gender, sexuality and violence with a focus on women and children.

    Ms. Marita Ishwaran is an Education and Development Consultant, whose work ranges from classroom and field micro interventions to macro roles of enabling and steering organisations. Some of her thematic areas of expertise include: Community Development; Human Rights and Peace Education; Strategic Planning and Visioning.



  • Allwyn D'Silva

    Bishop Allwyn D'Silva is the former Director of ICOR. At present, he is the Secretary of the Office of Human Development of the Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences, and is in charge of the Social Apostolate of the Archdiocese of Bombay. He has an M.A. in Politics.

  • Anthony Dias

    Dr. (Fr.) Anthony Dias is currently the Director of the Xavier Institute of Social Research & Action (XISR). This Institute was shifted from St Xavier's College, Mumbai and is now located in Nashik. The main activity of the Institute is social research.

  • Vibhuti Patel

    Dr. Vibhuti Patel is Professor, Advanced Centre for Women's Studies, School of Development Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She retired as Professor and Head of Economics Department of SNDT Women's University, Mumbai in 2017. Her areas of specialisation have been Gender Economics, Women's Studies, Human Rights, Social Movements and Gender Budgeting.

  • Agnelo Menezes

    Agnelo Menezes is a Lecturer in Economics at St Xavier's College, Mumbai, of which he was Principal between 2015 to 2018.
